Google Play Store Will Hide Stale Old Apps
There are so many apps on Google Play Store. There are new applications and there are also old applications. Later, the Google Play Store will hide old applications that are no longer appropriate or are stale. The reason is security.
Google mentions it through the Android developer blog. They mentioned that each new generation of Android operating system not only provides new features, but also ensures user safety and convenience.
Currently, Google requires new apps and app updates to target Android API levels at least one year older than the latest Android OS version. Developers won't be able to publish new apps or roll out updates if they don't meet these requirements.
Starting November 1, 2022, apps that don't target Android API levels for at most 2 years from the latest OS version, won't be able to be found in Google Play Store searches. Users will also not be able to install the application
Google said that the reason behind this decision was to keep the app up-to-date with the latest security conditions. Apps that don't follow the latest Android API level will likely not have the same level of security. In other words, more risky.
But if you've installed an old app that hasn't been updated, you can still find it on the Play Store (via app history). Only users who have never used it will not be able to find it
