Note! This is a row of smartphones with the highest radiation

It's no secret that smartphones can emit radiation. Each smartphone has a different level of radiation, which if too high can harm the health of the user.

The results of research by BanklessTimes analysts include a list of smartphones that have the highest radiation levels. Interestingly, of the top 10 devices with high radiation, most are filled by well-known brands.

As reported by Gizchina, Sunday (10/4/2022), radiation exposure to Google Pixel and Sony Xperia smartphones is among the highest. However, neither of them has the title of smartphone with the worst radiation.

The first rank for smartphone with the highest radiation level was achieved by Motorola Edge with a radiation level of 1.79 W / kg. While the second and third positions are the ZTE Axon 11 5G with a radiation level of 1.59 W / kg and the OnePlus 6T with 1.55 W / kg.

Slightly lower radiation levels are the Sony Xperia XA2 Plus, Google Pixel 3XL and Google Pixel 4a, OPPO Reno5 5G, Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, Google Pixel 3, and One Plus 6. The radiation levels can be seen in the table.

Please note that smartphone radiation can have an impact on the body. It is measured in Specific absorption rate (SAR) which is a measure of the rate at which energy is absorbed per unit mass by the body when exposed to radio frequencies.

For the SAR limits in different countries of the world, smartphones with radiation from 1.6 W / kg to 2.0 W / kg are still accepted. For example, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has set a maximum SAR level of 1.6 W/kg.

Taking this parameter into account, out of the top 10, only Motorola Edge exceeds the radiation limit. This high radiation level is caused by various factors, such as the age of the device, the transmitting antenna, and also the distance of the smartphone from the transmitting tower.
